New Haven GE E-33 for Train Simulator
Ricardo Rivera of Reppo has just released a beautiful new locomotive for Train Simulator through Dovetail Games' Steam Store. It's the New Haven liveried GE E-33, and what a fantastic model it is, too! Featuring astounding details and some very detailed controls (including cold start procedures), this new locomotive will surely see a lot of action on the Springfield Line and the New York - New Haven route.

Run the Aerotrain on the Springfield Line
...because, why not? The real Aerotrain might have never done that, but that UFO on rails looks lovely between the green hills and colorful towns along the route.

B&O Steam Action in the Workshop
Four fantastic new scenarios for the B&O Kingwood Branch have been uploaded to the Steam Workshop by RolandBP and Fleegle411.
Take a trip back in time and do some switching and a short branchline run with the AT&N 2-8-0 in RolandBP's scenarios "The Tunnelton Early Day Shift (part 1)" and part 2, or brace yourself for a brutally challenging run trying to get the Leviathan 4-4-0 up and down the insane gradients in Fleegle441's "Leviathan to Howesville" and "Leviathan to Tunnelton" scenarios.

Scenario Editor Black Screen Hotfix Attempt
RolandBP in the Steam discussion forums kindly informed us about a bug on the route that can cause the scenario editor to show a black screen (no lighting of the environment) when trying to edit a scenario on the Kingwood Branch route.
While I do not fully understand the nature of this bug yet, it seems to be related to the weather and/or terrain texturing settings in the RouteProperties.xml and TemplateRoute blueprint. I am linking a hotfix below, containing updated versions of these two files. With them, I have not been able to get the bug to show up any more.
Please backup the two original files first before installing the hotfix.
The modified files are:
Assets\VNHRR\WVN_Railroad\TemplateRoutes\West Virgina Northern.bin
and:
Content\Routes\f45680b0-efe9-4879-9ce5-3d9b0a319b24\RouteProperties.xml

Available now for Train Sim 2017 are the 40xx series of steel interurban railcars that were constructed for the New Haven Railroad in 1920-1921 by Osgood Bradley of Worcester, Massachusetts.
These are truly wonderful models that will be the perfect match for your backdated New York - New Haven route scenarios, or even just to make the southern end of the Springfield Line look more alive.

A New Visitor Comes to Kingwood
The tired and light rails were creaking under our weight, but we made it. Travel by Train's new and absolutely stunning B&O GP35 has taken a tour on the Kingwood Branch. The massively increased power over the GP9 is very welcome for the engineer, but the thought that this might lead bosses to simply make the trains longer is worrying. Even a twenty car train with three GP9's can be tricky on this line with its huge elevation changes.
The GP35 is available in the Early Access B&O/Chessie GP35 pack by Travel by Train. We highly recommend this fine add-on locomotive pack for Train Simulator 2017.

Have a look at the Rollercoaster Ride that awaits you on the upcoming B&O Kingwood Branchline route. Only gradients greater than 1% are shown, there are hardly any stretches of level track on this route:

A new set of Heavyweight Coaches is now available. Baggage and Coach cars in four liveries of the New York Central railroad and its subsidiary Boston & Albany are ready for download on the blog's download page and on my website.

Heavyweight Repaints Updated
Our Great Northern repaints of the heavyweight baggage and coach cars just got updated to the latest spec models from the Springfield Line 3.0.
You can download them either here on the blog's download page or from my website.
As before, these repaints are freeware and a standalone add-on, in other words they do not require the Springfield Line to be installed.
A scenario pack using these cars is available on my website. In it you will be in charge of GN Train 6, the Seattle-Spokane local, across Stevens Pass. This is a more detailed version of the same scenario that is available on the Workshop, using additional free- and (some) payware items than what is available in the Steam Store.
